FreeFrom Food Awards is the industry's only award for excellence for freefrom food – raising the profile of freefrom within the industry and with the consumer. The 2012 awards were presented by Antony Worrall Thompson at the 5th annual FreeFrom Food Awards party on 17th April 2012 at the Museum of London in Docklands, London.
An increasing amount of people in the UK buy freefrom food. It's estimated that the global market for freefrom food will be $17 billion by 2017! The annual FreeFrom Food Awards seek out the the best of those freefrom foods. The awards, whose patron is long-term champion of freefrom food, Antony Worrall Thompson, have been hugely successful in raising the profile and the quality of freefrom food.
His Royal Highness Prince Daniel of Sweden, Duke of Västergötland, dropped by John Lewis Foodhalls from Waitrose on London's Oxford Street to sample products from FRIA the award-winning gluten-free bakery. FRIA has arrived in the UK as part of a major Swedish food trial in collaboration with the Swedish Trade Council and Waitrose in response to the UK’s growing appetite for Scandinavian food.
